Blogging in Boston - Part One

So, this week is going to be a little bit different than normal.  My boyfriend and I ended up taking a roadtrip to Boston!  Which means I'll be traveling and not able to blog as well as normal, but I'll do what I can.  Maybe I can share some stuff I already had written, or maybe even, cool stuff I'll write while here! 

Or, I'll just be a kind of travel blogger this week.  Ooo, I like that idea.  Let's go with that. 

Well, it took us just under 17 hours to drive here to our hotel in the Boston suburbs.  At least 13 of them in the rain.  So...  That was a less than stellar experience.  But, we survived! 

We're staying in Wakefield, which is about 30 minutes away from Boston by train - though it felt far faster than that.  Our hotel is literally the worst.  If you ever find yourself in the Boston region, don't stay in the Lakeside Inn in Wakefield.  It's so trash.  Both in the actual look of it from the outside (and there are actual piles of trash outside it) and in the people who run it.  Such rude human beings. 

But more on that in my many reviews that will posted on the internet. :)

So far, we haven't done much more than drive here, get pizza delivered to our hotel, and then pass out.  We got a margherita pizza from a local place called Colombo's Pizza Cafe, and I thought it was delicious - the boyfriend wasn't as enthusiastic about it. 

That's really all we've done so far.  I'll keep you all updated as we go!

Writing Advice From My Favorite Authors

I read a lot of books.  Typically YA, even still to this day.  In high school, I was known for carrying around two things: 1) a notebook with whatever story I was writing at the time 2) a book.  I've always been a fast reader, so I typically finished a book the same day I brought it to school. Which meant I got very familiar with my local libraries.  As a teenager, I super could not afford to buy new books as fast as I read them.  Plus, I don't like buying brand new books unless I really like the author.  Even then, there are still only a few authors whose books I'll buy immediately when they come out rather than wait until they go on sale or until I can find a used copy. DW is honestly the most relatable character ever. Halloween Writing Prompts!

It's Spooky Month!  Finally, it's time to bring back the apple cider, corn mazes, pumpkins, sweaters, and costumes!  Yassss!  With October being a fun and spooky month, I decided to try out some different kinds of posts in these upcoming weeks.  Today, for instance, I'll be creating some Halloween writing prompts.  I've seen a lot of different ones online before, but a lot of them are just too vague.  To me, a writing prompt has to give you just enough to get your writing gears turning, but enough freedom to really do whatever you want with it. For example: In a Creative Writing class I took in college, we were given a writing prompt towards Halloween.  The prompt was: Your significant other asks you to become a vampire.  How do you respond?
